Inspiring Confidence: Polaris Community Helps Year 11 Students Shine in Mock Interviews
On Thursday 9th October 2025, 4 managers from the Polaris Community attended South Bromsgrove High School to assist with their Mock Interview Day for year 11 students who will be taking their GCSE exams this academic year.
During this event, local businesses were asked to provide their support in facilitating over 300 Year 11 students to attend a realistic 15–20-minute interview, followed by constructive feedback. The aim was to give the students a feel for real interviews and improve their confidence and interview techniques in preparation for their applications to sixth forms, colleges and apprenticeships.
Thank you so much to Vanessa Newell , Leanne Holloway , Andrew Leaver and Helen Corbett who donated their time to interview 30 students. I was really pleased to receive feedback from the school that the students had really appreciated the opportunity and that the mock interviews had made them feel much more confident about attending interviews again in the future.
Likewise, our interviewers also said that they enjoyed the event and met some great, smart and interesting students. It was also commented how nice it was to see the students gain in confidence throughout the interviews and become more talkative.
We’ve already said that we would like to support them again in 2026!
