Building Bird Boxes at Gorsehill Nature Reserve:  Sunday 2nd March 2025

What better way to spend a Sunday than out in nature, getting crafty and supporting our feathered friends? Over 20 foster families joined the FCA North West Eco Group at the beautiful Gorsehill Nature Reserve for bird box building day!

Armed with wood kits and expert guidance, everyone rolled up their sleeves to saw, sand, and assemble their own bird boxes. There were plenty of hot drinks to keep everyone warm and cosy as children, young people, and foster parents carefully crafted to offer a safe home for nesting birds.

These bird boxes will soon be up in gardens across the region, giving local wildlife a helping hand and encouraging more biodiversity right on our doorsteps. It was a fantastic mix of fun, teamwork, and some sawdust – and we’re pretty sure the birds will be chirping their thanks this spring! 🐣🌿
