Eco Seed Planting with FCA North West:  Monday 12th May 2025

This past sunny Sunday, around 30 foster parents, children, and young people from FCA North West gathered at the beautiful Gorse Hill Nature Reserve in Ormskirk for a morning of eco-friendly fun!

With the sun blazing and the polytunnels feeling more like saunas, the group wisely took shelter in the cooler sheds of the main building to get planting. Under expert guidance, everyone rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on with sowing seeds like lettuce, radish, cress, and carrots! 🌿🥕

But that wasn’t all. The group also learned how to transplant cuttings into bigger pots and picked up top tips on how to move their young plants into garden beds when the time is right.

Everyone left with their own pots full of future salads, excited to grow their greens at home and (eventually) tuck into the tasty results!🥗
